Last Saturday, TSK Zurich in cooperation with apnea center conducted the largest PADI freediving course ever offered in Zurich. In beautiful summer weather, a total of 13 people were guided through two open open water session by four of our certified PADI instructors. Course participants successfully mastered the required open water skills such as Constant Weight (CWT) dives to at least -10 meters as well as several rescue and buddy skills. We stressed the importance of safety in freediving and none of our students was allowed to dive without a lanyard. The water temperature was only 16 degrees, but the new Mares rental wetsuits from TSK Zurich enabled our students to feel warm through both sessions. In the end, some of our students mastered CWT and FIM (Free Immersion) dives down to -16 meters and decided to visit us again on the next day for our 2023 Season Opening, which was organised for the first time.
